ACTON SCOTT |
|
| Acton Scott is a small village in South Shropshire. Its buildings look different to those in neighbouring villages because they have been built from stone found on the Acton Scott Estate. | ![]() |
The church and other buildings on the estate including the Hall are built of Acton Scott Limestone . This rock has a very restricted distribution and forms a plateau in the valley known as Apedale. |

The church at Acton Scott shows off the beautiful creamy limestone that makes up the hill that the village sits on. You can find fossil shells in the car park just opposite the church, and take some time to follow the Acton Scott Amble around the village. |
